PURPOSE: To perform technical work in the planning, scheduling, and producing of training and/or educational television programs. Responsible for the production of television programs for various areas of study.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans and schedules production staff space and equipment, applies methods of production to establish training and/or education television programs. Works with students to develop programs and follows through on directing and editing techniques until process is correct. Consult with clients on production and advise them of the best approach to fulfill their request. Makes decisions on casting, set design and set direction. Interact with production crew to bring forth television media ideas and scripts. Performed related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Self supervising because of extensive technical or specialized knowledge and/or experience. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Limited supervision to production crews involving routine assigning and checking of work.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in television production, communication arts or related occupational field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience planning television program format and in directing or assisting in directing educational or commercial television productions. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in all phases of work performed. Working conditions found in a standard television studio and exposure to high voltage hot lights. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
