PURPOSE: To provide supervisory and technical skills to operate and maintain television facilities and assist in the production of television programs. Responsible for assisting and supervising employees in the operation and maintenance of equipment, and for maintaining, operating, and production schedules in the transmission, broadcast, and production of programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises and assists in the installation, maintenance, and repairs of television receivers, cameras, camera controls, videotape recorders, and audio amplifiers and associated equipment. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Receives general instruction from the Television Chief Engineer. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Provides general supervision to assigned technical and other personnel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation and two years of technical courses in electronics. Must have a Radio-Television First Class Operator's License issued by the Federal Communications Commission.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Five years of experience in the operation and maintenance of television equipment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to operate Television Cameras, VT Recorder, Character Generator, Audio Board, Message Keyboard, and editing equipment. Proficiency in all phases of work performed. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but occasionally involves exposure to some hazard in handling mechanical, electrical equipment and duties require standing, lifting and carrying. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
