PURPOSE: To perform basic or routine accounting assignments involved in the preparation of financial statements and reports. Responsible for the assignments and operation of an accounting office and responsibilities for accounting records.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assembles data from book of original entry and central control records. Prepare financial statements and reports pertaining to departmental or university activities. Audits and processes cash receipts , purchasing and disbursement documents in accordance with appropriate rules and regulations. Reviews central accounts and fund groups for propriety of entries and investigates overdrafts. Reconciles bank statements. Performs related duties as required. Prepares or assists in the preparation of various financial reports including monthly and annual summary reports and government reports. Prepares or assists with billings to government on federal projects.
