PURPOSE: To assist departments with all compensation related areas, such as salary surveys, desk audits, market requests, job analysis, creation of classification, reclassification, additional payments, and general HR questions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer emails and phone calls regarding surveys, audits, reclassifications, payments, job analysis, and classifications. Communicate the policies and procedures with the individuals requesting data. Determine correct classification based on information of the position. Perform desk audits, which involves meeting with individuals and reviewing the current duties of the position. Performs salary surveys, by either completing submitted requests by outside organizations, typically higher education institutions or for major survey companies. Sends out request for internal surveys and collects data and makes recommendations based on data analysis. Process HRMS documents, additional payments, changes to jobs, changes to an assignment. Creates new positions, reclassifications, and fill an existing position requests. Evaluates positions based on the university's job evaluation system. Draft job descriptions for new positions, revise current position descriptions, and reviews all job descriptions submitted for accuracy. Performs FLSA determinations, collects org charts, works on special projects. Will review and make recommendations regarding supplemental payments and payments submitted on APS forms for the payroll department. Analyze requested salary offers outside policy and makes recommendations based on findings and outcomes.
