PURPOSE: To provide skills in the receipt, disbursement and recording of funds for the institution. Responsible for assisting in the receipt, disbursement and accountability of university funds and for answering questions concerning institutional policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares cashier window for opening. Receives cash or checks at a window in payment of rent, property deposits, parking permits, traffic violations, registration fees, notes or accounts receivable, returned checks, and miscellaneous sums due. Receives funds deposited for safekeeping by students, departments, and organizations. Collects and issues refunds for parking fees, room deposits, library fees delinquent accounts and returned checks. Cash personal checks for students and staff. Posts cash transactions to records of receivables, library and breakage deposits, and room deposits and rent payments. Maintains ledger on loan accounts. Performs related duties as assigned.
