PURPOSE: To provide assistance to the Compliance Officer and the Executive Director of Institutional Compliance with the development, oversight and monitoring of compliance programs within the University. Responsible for communicating and coordinating with other UTA functions to develop an awareness of the Compliance program among institutional employees.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates and communicates on the implementation and progress of the general compliance training program and proposes changes to the training program in duties of the general compliance training program in response to the changing needs of the organization. Oversees and/or performs the daily duties of the general compliance training program (Compliance Training Web Site) "gatekeeper" including, but not limited to, adding employees, resetting employee passwords, adding courses, adding departments, scheduling courses for employees and generating departmental reports by employee name. Conducts compliance program reviews of specific high-risk monitoring plans and makes recommendations that may result in corrective action. Recommends and assists in implementation of programs, policies and procedures designed to encourage managers and employees in local reporting or suspected fraud, abuse and waste without fear of retaliation; investigates and acts upon matters related to compliance, including the design and coordination of internal investigations. Coordinates corrective actions with the appropriate departments, administrators and Internal Audit as applicable. Reviews all documents and other information relevant to compliance activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Minimum of three years accounting, auditing or compliance experience in a public or private college or university, a federal or state agency, an accounting/auditing firm or a corporation. Requires excellent oral and written skills as well as leadership skills and initiative. The incumbent must also be professional, personable and have high ethical standards and values. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Requires knowledge of personal computer with a solid working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. Required in all phases of duties performed. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive; thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
