PURPOSE: To assist in the preparation of programs for the solution of problems through the use of electronic data processing equipment. Responsible for assisting in the preparation of short programs of portions of more complex programs in accordance with flow charts and specific instructions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Writes computer code in accordance with strict specifications of program performance. Prepares flow charts or other documentation of detailed implementation steps. Test runs programs. Corrects errors. Compares results for conformity with specifications. Measures and improves running time of programs. Performs related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation supplemented by two years of accredited, college-level coursework in computer science, mathematics, physics, or related field, or by the completion of vocational training in computer programming.
