PURPOSE: To advise and provide consultation to computer users on various skill levels regarding the effective use of computer resources. Responsible for providing complex and advanced information to faculty, staff, students, and various other groups regarding computers and their usage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consults with users on the use of computer(s) for research or course or research work. Provides solutions in resolving complex computer-related problems. Advises users on the use of effective programming and debugging techniques. Provides advanced computer services (e.g. complex or non-standard tape copying etc.) to academic departments and other groups. Writes and updates user documentation. Investigates, evaluates, tests, and installs third-party software. Provides interface between other department groups and the user community. Performs related duties as assigned. Writes small to medium size programs for testing and evaluation of software, limited usage applications for internal use, or as requested by academic departments.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Three years of course work (including at least three programming courses) towards degree in computer-related field.
