PURPOSE: To provide entry-level skills in the coding, entry, and retrieval of information by means of a computer terminal. Responsible for the coding, entry and retrieval of data and occasional involvement in other related clerical duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Receives information to be entered into the system. Codes data prior to entry. Retrieves information. Updates and deletes existing files and records as requested. Checks and verifies the correctness and completeness of data that has been entered. Performs related duties as required. Makes minor modifications as necessary. Assists in the preparation of reports. Performs other clerical or processing functions as necessary.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Usual direct supervision on most assignments. With experience, directions may become more general in nature. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: None.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Six months of general office clerical experience. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Data entry terminal. Proficiency in all coding, and entry activities. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code
