PURPOSE: To provide the necessary technical and supervisory skills to direct the activities of data entry groups who are involved in the coding, entry, and retrieval of data by means of computer terminals. Responsible for the correct coding, input, and retrieval of data from computer storage banks, and for the training and supervision of other data entry personnel.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises, and instructs other operators in determining the correctness of source data, spotting obvious discrepancies and entering of information into computer bank. Interprets and enters data for accounts of files. Verifies all input for accuracy. Coordinates the routine aspects of new systems with programming and systems personnel. Retrieves information on a display screen or tele-printer. Organizes workflow and assigns work to other terminal operators. Performs related work as required. Performs related clerical or processing functions as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from Data Entry Supervisor. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Directs the work of Data Entry Operators I and II.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of experience in data entry operations. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Data entry terminal and mini-computer. Exact accuracy required in data entry to computer. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
