PURPOSE: To provide the technical experience required to develop, maintain and provision enterprise data storage and backups. Responsible for complex system studies and for designing and developing modifications and enhancements to the enterprise data storage network system and its components.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes existing and projected storage systems and backup and procedures, including studies of the interaction of several storage systems to ascertain feasibility and performance. Coordinates implementation of storage systems and backups, and evaluates and modifies existing enterprise data storage components. Participates in studies of projected enhancements and growth of data storage and in the development of recommendations to management based upon the results of such studies. Advises data infrastructure specialists of lower grade with respect to determination, and possible solutions to, work problems. Performs other related duties as required. Participates in planning of enhancements and modifications to the data storage and backup systems, and identifies impact of such changes. Trains Data Infrastructure Specialists I as required
