PURPOSE: To provide the technical expertise and high-level decision-making required to support and advance the enterprise data storage and backup systems. Responsible for maintaining an excellence in enterprise data storage, backups and in the analysis of the relationship and interaction of system components with data storage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directs the generation and maintenance of the installation's of enterprise data storage and backup systems. Conducts studies of projected enhancements in hardware and software, and presents recommendations to management. Maintains performance measurement and evaluation of the enterprise data storage and backups. Recommends, determines and directs performance improvement activities. Participates in all phases of enterprise data storage and in the generation of justifications and specifications for facility requirements and enhancements. Directs data storage and backup projects. Plans and supervises training of data infrastructure personnel. Performs related duties as required. Presents technical briefings. Participates in formulation and implementation of installation standards and procedures. Serves as Acting Manager of Data Infrastructure as directed.
