PURPOSE: Provides general maintenance and database management support for a departmental database system. Create and manage internal databases for office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors database entries for accuracy and verifies results; formats database queries in response to tabular requests and the need for new reports; generates template letters/reports; assists in ensuring integrity and confidentiality; transfers data between formats; assists in implementing database management protocols and procedures; produces database summaries, statistics and reports as requested; develops procedures for electronic data transfer; maintains all support tables and tracking entries; troubleshoots computer hardware/software problems; purges files and organizes data; tests computer reports to verify results and corrects computing errors; oversees and develops internal backup procedures; assists in implementing data entry protocols and procedures; trains back up personnel in all functions of the position; consults with departments to solve problems and facilitate effective communication; provides recommendations for equipment needs.
