PURPOSE: Provides general maintenance and database management support for a departmental database system. Create and manage internal databases for office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors database entries for accuracy and verifies results; formats database queries in response to tabular requests and the need for new reports; generates template letters/reports; assists in ensuring integrity and confidentiality; transfers data between formats; assists in implementing database management protocols and procedures; produces database summaries, statistics and reports as requested; develops procedures for electronic data transfer; maintains all support tables and tracking entries; troubleshoots computer hardware/software problems; purges files and organizes data; tests computer reports to verify results and corrects computing errors; oversees and develops internal backup procedures; assists in implementing data entry protocols and procedures; trains back up personnel in all functions of the position; consults with departments to solve problems and facilitate effective communication; provides recommendations for equipment needs. REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year database/records management or related experience OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Working knowledge of current software applications including Access Standard office conditions Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
