PURPOSE: To provide responsible assistance in the operation of institutional personnel services and functions. Responsible for assisting in all phases of the personnel program including wage and salary administration, preparation of job descriptions, job audits, recruitment of new employees, staff benefits, training, and interpretation and advice on policy matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in performing responsible and technical duties in an assigned area of personnel services. Interviews, screens and refers qualified applicants to departments seeking personnel. Assists in the indoctrination of new employees to staff benefits and personnel policies. Provides assistance to employees and resolves problems involving coverage and claims handling. Processes personnel transaction forms and other records. Assists in maintaining personnel record systems and training programs. Handles routine request for information and/or interpretation of policies and rules. Performs related duties as required. May be assigned special projects. Compiles and records statistical data and periodic reports.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in personnel administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
