PURPOSE: To support institutional and unit policy development and program planning, evaluation and decision making through the design and execution of institutional research studies, including data analysis, interpretation, reporting and development of recommendation.Responsible for identifying research needs, generating, gathering and analyzing research data; developing recommendations for institutional action.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepares  periodic  reports  to  local,  state and federal agencies, accrediting bodies and external agencies, including monitoring and analyzing reporting requirements, and auditing/verifying data; monitors and assists in developing comprehensive, integrated management information system; defines, develops and documents system requirements; writes application programs: assists users define data needs and interpret results of analyses.Special projects as assigned by directors.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Director of institutional Research and Planning. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Responsible for office operation in absence of Director. Coordinates assignments with programming and clerical staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Master's degree in higher education, educational research and statistics, or related discipline.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Three years of experience in educational research or related field. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Proficient in use of mainframe and personal computers and peripherals.Required in all phases of work.Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
