PURPOSE: To perform inter-office campus mail duties in the campus post office. Responsible for processing large volumes of mail on a large multi-building campus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Picks up, identifies, and distributes campus mail on a prescribed schedule and route. Sorts out-going, incoming and intra-campus mail. Maintains some allied records and does light clerical work. Operates postal equipment as directed. Aids in maintaining postal security. May work at cash window, selling stamps and postal money orders and make off campus pick-up and delivery. Performs related duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from Mail Services Supervisor. Work is occasionally checked for conformity with mail processing procedures. SUPERVISION: N/A REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduate.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: None. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Operate postage meters, scales, mail insert and sorting machine, typewriter and motor vehicle and other mailroom equipment. Proficiency in all phases of duties performed. Working conditions are considered acceptable, but involves a considerable amount of standing and occasionally heavy lifting and exposure to noise. Special job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
