PURPOSE: Responsible for managing the day to day activities of the UT Shared Services support team and coordinating activities with multiple IT teams, multiple institutions, and multiple university departments to develop, maintain, and enhance PeopleSoft applications environment, including the data warehouse.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct development teams in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, change management, and standard development practices. Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of PeopleSoft and supporting applications, including the management and population of a data warehouse. Interact and work closely with the TexSIS/Shared Services Operating Committee to plan for future enhancements, develop priorities, identify issues, and propose solutions. Provide scope and prioritization on work assignments, paying strong attention to detail and deadlines. Coordinate systems analysis and applications development activities through direct and indirect staff. Utilize and promote the use of Enterprise tools and development standards, including change management best practices. Refine a development standards methodology that accommodates changing business priorities. Monitor development requests and ensure best practices are being utilized. Ensure that the team (and other IT members) are responding to, and troubleshooting, reported problems pertaining to the PeopleSoft applications performance and reliability. Identify the cause, design or develop an approach for resolution. Upon approval, implement the correction to meet user specific needs. Evaluate employee performance and provide for development and training of staff.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related discipline.

INTERNAL CONTROL: Responsible for the design, execution, and effectiveness of a system of internal controls which provides reasonable assurance that department operations are effective and efficient, department assets are safeguarded, department financial information is reliable, and the department complies with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
