PURPOSE: Responsible for providing leadership and direction for UT Arlington web development and support. Responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Web Development team and coordinating activities with multiple IT teams and University departments to develop, maintain, and enhance websites and web applications across the UT Arlington environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate systems analysis and web applications development activities through direct and indirect staff. Direct development team in the areas of scheduling, technical direction, future planning, and standard development practices. Provide leadership in the design, development, and implementation of websites and web applications. Provide scope and prioritization on work assignments, paying strong attention to detail and deadlines. Utilize and promote the use of Enterprise tools and development standards. Interact with the user community to gather and document business requirements, conduct process analysis, and draft conceptual design. Define a development standards methodology that accommodates changing business priorities. Monitor project requests and ensure best practices are being utilized. Ensure that the teams (and other IT members) are responding to, and troubleshooting, reported problems pertaining to performance and reliability. Identify the cause, design or develop an approach for resolution. Upon approval, implement the correction to meet user specific needs. Evaluate employee performance and provides for development and training of staff. Performs other duties as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Director, Enterprise Information Services SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May lead and direct the work of others.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Ten+ years of IT and business work experience including managing teams in systems analysis and/or web development and including: 5+ years of systems analysis and design, including web applications and website development. Strong understanding of all phases of the application development lifecycle and project management disciplines. Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel) Masters degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field. Certifications in supported technologies. Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to work well with people in all levels of the organization. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and Microsoft office. Extremely accurate in all phases of work. General office conditions.
