PURPOSE: To provide the developed technical, and some managerial skills required for the installation, operation, and optimization of digital network communication equipment. Responsible for planning the installation and maintenance of network communication equipment and software necessary for terminals, workstations, personal computers, and mainframe computers to effectively communicate over a computer network.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricate, configure, install, and test various forms of network communication equipment. Develop procedures necessary to determine interface requirements of new equipment/software needed for network expansion. Utilize a broad base of electronic and programmed communication theory to insure effective and optimal use of network communication resources. Interface with vendors/manufacturers as needed. Provide occasional consulting concerning communication needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education
REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Three years completed courses towards bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field.
