PURPOSE: To provide basic clerical skills in the performance of office tasks routine in nature and covered by established policies and procedures. Responsible for performing routine and repetitive clerical duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **Position should include a large percentage of the following duties, but is not required to include all referenced duties** Serves as a receptionist, answers telephone and routes calls. Answers routine questions regarding policies, procedures and operations of the department or division. Performs routine miscellaneous clerical tasks, such as filing, opening and distributing mail, faxing information and typing. Types routine correspondence, form letters, requisitions, purchase orders and other materials. Posts and maintains records, files and ledgers, some of which may be confidential in nature. Operates office machines and equipment including computer terminals and switchboards. Assists in routine data collection and processing. Performs data entry/retrieval functions, including the maintenance of existing data files. Receives and records cash payments, signs receipts and/or supplies. Reviews the accuracy of various documents. Performs other duties as assigned.
