PURPOSE: To provide advanced technical support for personal computing hardware, software and peripherals. Responsible for support of hardware, software and peripherals for which an advanced level of skill is required. Provides solutions for task that are typically complex and/or time consuming.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists clients with the advance uses of standard personal computing technology for academic and administrative functions. Consults with departments and groups on personal computing needs Implement and support hardware and software to meet departmental objectives. Research, evaluate, and recommend new personal computing technologies. Trains junior personnel and other departmental personnel with IT duties. Diagnoses and repairs software and hardware at an expert level. Obtains professional certifications as needed. Performs related duties as required. Assist in researching and developing tools and processes to automate personal computing support services. Assist in maintaining existing documentation for standards, services and procedures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Work is performed under the general supervision from higher grade PCS. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Provide training and/or general supervision of lower classified PCS


REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Three years of course work towards degree in computer-related field, or equivalent practical experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Three years of practical work experience in computer-related field. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of and/or experience with an extensive variety of computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Accuracy is required.
