PURPOSE: To provide the entry-level technical skills required to translate the definitions and terminology used by systems analysts into the types of reports, charts and diagrams, from which programmers can efficiently perform their tasks. Responsible for basic program definitions limited to specific components of the overall electronic computing system.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the analysis of problems as defined by the systems analyst and expands the definitions to be suitable to the programmer's requirements. Designs test files. Performs moderately complex programming and debugging and modifies existing programs for specific uses. Develops more efficient programming techniques. Performs documentation. Assists on implementations of systems and job streams. Performs related duties as required. May assist in report preparation.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision by Programmer Analyst II, III, IV and Manager, Programming Services. Detailed supervision while training or on new or complex assignments. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: None.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in appropriation field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: One year of experience in programming or analysis for electronic computers. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of capabilities of electronic computers systems common the University of Texas at Arlington. Exact accuracy is required. Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification may render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
