PURPOSE: Responsible for assisting in the directing of major phases of work in the department, specializing in such areas as wage and salary administration, preparation of job descriptions, job audits, and interpretation and advice on policy matters. Lead position for Human Resources merics and HRIS reporting for the Vice President of Human Resources and alldepartments falling within his/her purview. Analyzes data, information and statistics, and creates data models as appropriate to fill business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides consultative expertise, advice and guidance regarding laws and compensation practices to management and staff. Monitors market to ensure UT Arlington is providing competitive total compensation. Conducts complex equity reviews and job analyses; providing FLSA analysis, and recommending titles and pay ranges for new and current positions. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining base and incentive compensation programs that are internall equitable and externally competitive. Responsible for managing variable compensation plans and for developing relevant reports and metrics that help the Office of HR to minitor and manage compensation across the campus. Conducts analyses of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and supplements in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the university's pay practices. Assists in the development of various compensation programs and the administration of performance review or merit-rating programs. Review salary increases for compliance with university policy and budget. Research, compile and prepare analyses of external compensation survey data. Perform position audits (desk and electronic). Evaluate market compensation trends and make recommendations to management for new hire salaries and appropriate salary grade assignment.
