PURPOSE: To supervise, on a shift basis, the operation of electronic computing equipment, as well as the processes associated with its use. Responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating the operation of high-speed digital computer equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises, assigns and evaluates work done by computer operators. Operates computers by responding to console messages and handling peripheral devices such as printers, tape drives, etc., in accordance with operating procedures. Reviews documentation and briefs operators on changes to hardware and software. Insures that operators follow established procedures in work and that they adhere to safety rules. Performs related duties.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: General supervision from the Manager of Operations and Services. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: Direct supervision of shift personnel and the operation and monitoring of all computer systems and peripheral equipment in accordance with established procedures.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: High school graduation, supplemented by EDP/technical training.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Three years of related experience in the operations of a large-scale digital computer network and one-year experience in a supervisory capacity. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to use high-speed digital computer equipment. Accuracy required in following written and verbal instructions.
