PURPOSE: To supervise the operation of electronic data processing systems and the processes associated with their use. Responsible for supervising, planning, scheduling, and coordinating the operation of electronic data processing equipment and associated processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedules operation and maintenance of computer equipment. Supervises and evaluates performance of equipment maintenance-by-maintenance contractors. Makes initial diagnosis of user reports on system malfunctions. Defines, distributes, and schedules task roles and assignments. Interviews, tests applicants, and makes recommendations for computer operation positions. Supervises the acquisition of computer supplies. Performs related duties as required. Supervises the preparation and distribution of reports on system and equipment performance. Performs or directs installation of minor equipment. Designs and implements training curricula and instruction for operations personnel.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Two years of college level coursework in Data Processing, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
