PURPOSE: To provide advanced supervisory and clerical skills which require occassional exercise of independent judgement. Responsible for performing highly skilled or specialized clerical duties for a department or specialized operational area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **Position should include a large percentage of the following duties, but is not required to include all referenced duties** Determines work priority and schedules duties of a section or clerical service unit. Makes routine decisions, not subject to review, on a periodic basis. Assists in the preparation of the departmental budget, grant applications and periodic status reports of grant funds. Prepares departmental records, including statements of account and posting the annual budget. Examines statistics, manuscripts and reports for accuracy of specific data. Advises students and departments on administrative questions. Composes moderately complex correspondence and sends out routine correspondence and form letters. Devises and implements new procedures for clerical and secretarial personnel. Participates in the selection of subordinate clerical personnel and recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers and terminations. Determines or adjusts work procedures to meet objectives. Acts as liaison with other departments in the University. Performs other duties as assigned.
