PURPOSE: To provide the technical skills necessary to analyze business and management problems, and to recommend modifications of existing system designs, or the development of new system designs, to maximize efficient use of existing data processing equipment. Responsible for independent, single-system studies of medium complexity requiring familiarity with several phases of systems analysis and the development of analytical procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Consults with departmental personnel for problem definition and management requirements. Analyzes source documents, data base structure and management report requirements. Defines System improvement. Defines programming requirements and programming organization. Provides necessary documentation and consultation for implementation of system. Performs related duties as required. Presents system studies to user personnel. Assists in training lower classified analyst personnel.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Some general supervision required. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May provide training to lower classified analysts.


REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Two years of experience in analysis and programming. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the capabilities medium size computer systems. Verifies problem solutions to insure accuracy of the results. Exacting accuracy is required.
