PURPOSE: To provide solutions for business and management problems, by developing more efficient operational procedures and by utilizing electronic data processing equipment more effectively.Responsible for organizing and directing several data processing and/or management information systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzes existing systems and procedures. Designs operational systems improvements through use of charts, tables, logical diagrams, and mathematical techniques. Cost justifies system changes and use of data processing equipment. Organizes and schedules projects. Studies and eliminates work duplication by departments. Coordinates implementation of systems. Perform related duties.Prepares and presents studies to management. Prepares documentation and trains other system analysts.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: REPORTS TO: Essentially works on own assuming responsibility for project. Works at the highest levels of business and technical aspects of systems analysis with minimum of supervision. SUPERVISION: N/A SUPERVISION-OTHER: May provide some supervision and guidance to lower classified analysts.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: $education

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor-s degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / COMPETENCIES-OTHER: REQUIRED EXPERIENCES/COMPETENCIES: Three years of experience in systems analysis and programming. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the capabilities medium size computer systems.Accuracy required in analysis of selective machine responses and in modification of problem solutions.Specific job requirements or physical location of some positions allocated to this classification, may render the position security sensitive, and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
