PURPOSE: Provides professional human resources administration and services using concepts, practices, and procedures within the compensation department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides compensation policy guidance to employees and management. Formulates recommendations for the development and update of salary structures. Responsible for compensation data analysis and reporting. Responsibilities may include development and update of departmental productivity data, position/departmental pay analysis and reporting, and development of A and P and Classified pay lines. Conducts market studies to determine equitable salary information. Participates in salary surveys and requests from other institutions regarding salary and pay range issues. Conducts job evaluations to establish/validate relevant position duties, exemption status, and appropriate salary grade. Prepares spreadsheets for analysis and provides recommendations to management. Works with departments to ensure positions and accompanying salary ranges are aligned to optimally support the university. Makes recommendations as apprpriate for job structure changes, and works with departments for implementation. Assists departments with issues pertaining to HRMS and/or Define. Assists in training of all campus staff and faculty on the HRMS System. Reviews job postings to ensure duties and requirements are appropriately alligned with the position. Reviews and approves hiring offers outside policy guidelines to ensure salary is equitable within the university salary structure. Responsible for collecting and distributing all necessary data for the university's unemployment claims. Works directly with TALX in ensuring all data is accurate and substantial. Serves as the liaison between UT Arlington and the Texas Workforce Commission for TWC hearings and appeals. Submits all supporting documentation in order to meet hearing deadlines. Collects, files, and inputs Annual Performance Reviews and Six-Month Performance Reviews. Contacts all departments with employees that are due for a 6 month performance review to remind them of submission deadlines. Maintains and tracks all positions approved or put on hold by the hiring committee. Assists all departments in documentation that must be sent to the hiring committee and acts as the liaison between the department and the committee. Performs research for the VP Human Resources on items submitted for review. Serves on the HRMS software implementation and maintenance support group.

REQUIRED EDUCATION-OTHER: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
