Services Provided by the EAP
The EAP services include a toll-free 24-hour helpline that is staffed with trained professionals available to all clients, including TDD (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) services for the hearing impaired and language translation services for non-English speaking clients. Services are provided on a 24-hour a day, 7-day a week basis. Regular office and telephone appointments, which are at least fifty (50) minutes in length, are scheduled to meet the needs of the individual. Weekend and evening appointments are available in addition to regular business hours. The EAP offers services in the following areas:
Teen Counseling
- 24-hour teen helpline staffed with trained professionals who are experienced in adolescent issues
Confidential Short Term Problem Resolution Counseling
- Short term, problem-solving counseling for up to four sessions per family per fiscal year
- Consultation and assessment of personal and work-related problems
- Recommendations to community resources and other University services as needed
- Assistance finding mental health providers on UTA health insurance
- Follow-up support to the individual client with domestic violence, substance abuse or workplace performance problems
Manager Consulting
- Unlimited consultation related to employee performance, productivity and/or relationship issues in the workplace for managers, supervisors, and administrators
- Coaching and joint meetings, as requested, with Employee Relations, Equal Opportunity Services, or other UT services help-line
- Assessment of potentially threatening or violent situations
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD)
- Work site intervention provided on an as-needed basis. Available following any trauma or crisis experienced by a work-group (i.e., death or major illness of a co-worker)
- Reduces stress that naturally follows any traumatic incident and maintains work productivity
