How to register

A contact person from the department should call the SNAP Job Office to register. A department may have multiple employees registered with the system. A department contact person will use his/her UT EID as a user name and will be given a temporary password. Training sessions on how to use the SNAP Job System are offered. For more information, visit the Training Calendar and Registration web site.

How to login

  1. Go to www.uta.edu/snapjob
  2. Click on “SNAP Job login”
  3. Enter your user name and password

How to edit a profile (change password)

  1. At the employer homepage, select “My Profile” from the blue menu bar
  2. Click [Edit] to change desired fields
  3. Click “Save” when complete

How to use the calendar

  1. At the employer homepage, click the [Edit] button on the calendar
  2. Add an event by clicking “New Event” icon at the bottom left side of each day
  3. Delete an event by clicking on the “X” on the right side of the screen

How to post a new position

IMPORTANT:

  • All positions must be posted for a minimum of 3 business days.
  • Returning students, who had worked in the department in the previous semester, can be hired directly without posting the position.
  1. At the employer homepage, select “My Jobs” from the blue menu bar
  2. From “My Jobs” drop down menu, select “New Job”
  3. Read directions carefully; complete all required fields
  4. Click “Save” located at the top or bottom of the page
  5. Your position will become pending with the SNAP Job System
  6. You will receive a confirmation e-mail notifying you that your position is approved

How to repost a position

If you would like to use an old posting as a template, please contact the SNAP Job Office to copy the old posting. We can make any necessary changes and the job will be posted on the web with a new Job ID.

How to close a position

Jobs close at midnight on the specified closing date. If you need to change the closing date after a position has been posted, please contact the SNAP Job Office. If your position has been open for more than 3 business days and you wish to close it before the initially specified closing date, please contact the SNAP Job Office.

How to view referrals/applicants for a position

  1. At the employer homepage, select “My Jobs” from the blue menu bar
  2. Select “Job List” from the drop down menu
  3. Look in the job list for the Job ID of the position you wish to view the referrals for
  4. Select “R” in the “Activity” column beside the name of the job
  5. At the bottom of the page, there will be a list with the names of students who have applied for the position.
  6. These are the students eligible to be hired for the position.
    • To view the information for a particular student, click on “View” beside his/her name
    • To view a student profile, click on the student name
    • To view a student resume, click [View Resume] at the top of the page

How to create a student resume e-mail packet

  1. At the employer homepage, select “My Jobs” from the blue menu bar
  2. Select “Job List” from the drop down menu
  3. Look in the job list for the Job ID of the position you wish to view the referrals for
  4. Select “R” in the “Activity” column beside the name of the job
  5. Click “Select all” or check the boxes to select particular students of interest
  6. Click “check to email packet to self”. Otherwise the packet will appear in a new window
  7. Click “Create Packets” to send the packet to your email account

How to hire/place a student into a position

IMPORTANT: Students must be hired through the SNAP Job System and be in the Referral List for that particular job. Before reporting a student as hired, please verify that:

  • The student is in your Referral List. If not, the student should not be hired.
  • You are selecting the correct student. If the search results display more than one student with the same first and last name and you are not sure which one to select, please contact the SNAP Job office.

NOTE:

  • If you have less job openings advertised than students you decide to hire, contact the SNAP Job Office with the names of all students.
  • If for any reason, you cannot fill all advertised job openings, please contact the SNAP Job Office to cancel the openings not filled.
  1. At the employer homepage, click on “Report a Hire” under Quick Links
  2. Enter the student first and last name and click “Search”
  3. Click “Select Student” under “Action” column for the student you want to hire
  4. Click “Select Job” under “Action” column for the job the student is being hired for
  5. Complete all the required “Placement Information” and click “Finish”
  6. Send an email to snapjob@uta.edu with the name of the student hired
  7. Create an appointment in Define; include the Job ID in the remarks section of the appointment
  8. If a student is accidentally added to the placement list, that student can be removed by contacting the SNAP Job Office
