Position/Job Description:

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education and Health Professions at the University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for Clinical Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education to begin in August, 2013.

Required Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Mathematics Education or a related field. U.S. teacher certification and three years of successful public school teaching experience are also required, preferably in the middle and/or high school grades.

Preferred Qualifications: Excellence in teaching, supervisory experience, and interest in engaging in mathematics education research. Candidates must also possess a commitment to inquiry-based/project-based teaching and learning, and field-based teacher preparation.

The Mathematics Education program has been awarded multi-million dollar grants from state and national funding agencies for the promotion of STEM education initiatives. These initiatives are in partnership with the College of Science, College of Engineering, and school districts in the DFW metropolitan area, and include the UTeach Arlington science and mathematics teacher preparation program.
