Top 100 places to work 2009

The University of Texas at Arlington has been named one of the Top 100 Places to Work for 2009 by The Dallas Morning News. The honor will be included in a special section of the newspaper's Nov. 8 edition. UT Arlington also will be included in a video to be posted at www.dallasnews.com.

The Top 100 list highlights North Texas companies, for-profit and nonprofit organizations with more than 50 employees based in Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, Collin, Kaufman, Rockwall and Ellis counties.

UT Arlington has approximately 3,500 benefits-eligible employees and more than 28,000 students who work hard to make the University one of North Texas' best places to work, says Jean Hood, UT Arlington's vice president for human resources.

President James D. Spaniolo praised the University's work force.

"We're proud of our employees, our faculty and our students and their commitment to making this University a force for change in our region," Spaniolo says. "That's why we know that The University of Texas at Arlington is one of the Top 100 Places to Work, and we think it may be the best."
