UT System Business Procedures Memorandum #59-04-00
http://www.utsystem.edu/bor/procedures/policy/policies/uts116.html outlines the procedures to be followed in electing a UT Arlington employee for a two year term. To qualify for election as the institutional voting representative to the committee, the employee must be benefits eligible, must demonstrate mature judgment, must have special abilities in the area of employee benefits, must have a sincere interest in understanding employee insurance programs, and must be able to represent the needs all employees of the institution with respect to the deliberations and actions of the UT System Wide Insurance Advisory Committee.
In accordance with the BPM #59-04-00, the president of each institution is to nominate two eligible employees to stand for election to the Insurance Advisory Committee. All benefits eligible employees of UT Arlington can vote by accessing the ballot at the link below. The individual receiving the majority of votes will serve as UT Arlington’s voting representative. The individual receiving the remaining votes will serve as UT Arlington’s non-voting/alternate representative. Both the voting member and the non-voting member will be required to attend meetings of the UT System Wide Insurance Advisory Committee. The elected representative will commence service on October 1, 2012.
