Dr. Adrian Rodríguez was born and raised in Eagle Pass, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin majoring in Mechanical Engineering and later received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington as a fellow of the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation-Bridge to the Doctorate program. He conducted research in the area of multibody dynamics and nonlinear mechanics under the supervision of Dr. Alan Bowling.
Currently, Dr. Rodríguez is a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at UTA. He is a recent fellow of the Faculty Fellows program and served as the faculty mentor for undergraduate research programs (REU and UROP). He has also taught as an instructor for Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS), which is a program aimed at helping low-income, first generation high school students with academic assistance to prepare them for college. As a past participant of the program himself, Dr. Rodríguez understands the impact that UBMS and other similar programs have and is dedicated to helping students succeed academically.
