Meet Our Students
Hometown: Curitiba, Brazil
Paola chose the UTA IMSE program because UTA has a strong IE program and is located within such a close proximity to so many world class engineering organizations. Because of this convenience Paola has been able to intern in the industry while completing school, giving her a competitive advantage entering the work place. Upon discovering the many different industries and tasks IE’s work with, she has been exposed to the wide world of possibilities which await an IE graduate. Since Paola is from Brazil, she appreciates the diverse culture at UTA and enjoys meeting people who come from every corner of the world. Paola is currently interning with Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions. She is also the IIE Vice President of the UTA student chapter. After graduation, Paola plans to work full-time and start pursuing a Master’s degree in Engineering.
Year: Graduate Student
Harsimar is a graduate student at the University of Texas at Arlington. Having completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering at UTA, he knew exactly the potential benefits and the improvements he could make in his own career having been immersed with the faculty through research and extra curricular activities. He currently works at Triumph Aerostructures Vought Aircraft Division in their international supply chain division. He enjoys communicating and speaking about how important Industrial Engineering is in our world, not just our industry. He hopes to go on and pursue his PhD in Industrial Engineering after his masters in hopes to become a professor and teach and do research.
Holly chose the UTA IMSE program because of its friendly staff and faculty and interesting coursework. She enjoys the many projects that introduce students to the applications of their material as well as the many fascinating stories that the faculty and staff freely share about their experiences in academia and industry. Holly works as an Office Assistant in the College of Engineering, volunteers at various K-12th grade outreach programs hosted by the college, and directs an extension of one of UTA's outreach programs, Engineering Saturday in Breckenridge. After graduation, she has decided to continue school at UTA where she will pursue a Master's degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and a PhD in Industrial Engineering.
