The Industrial & Manufacturing Systems Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applicants for two tenure track faculty positions.
Applicants for the first position will be considered for the rank of Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with their records in teaching, scholarship, and funded research. The ideal candidate will have (a) an earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or related field; (b) a significant record of scholarship and funded research; (c) a commitment to teaching excellence and to innovation in the continued development of our undergraduate, graduate, and distance education programs; (d) recognized expertise in Systems Engineering; and (e) an interest in providing leadership in the development of our Systems Engineering research program.
Applicants for the second position will be considered for the rank of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will have (a) an earned Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering or related field; (b) a commitment to develop a significant record of scholarship and funded research by the time of the tenure decision; (c) a commitment to teaching excellence and to innovation in the continued development of our undergraduate, graduate, and distance education programs; (d) expertise in Manufacturing Systems, Systems Engineering, or Applied Statistics/Operations Research; and (e) an interest in participating in the development of our research programs.
The Department has 10 full time faculty and about 300 students. The Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Industrial Engineering, an M.S. in Engineering Management, an M.S. in Logistics, and an M.S. in Systems Engineering. Research centers within the Department include the Systems Engineering Research Center, the Center on Stochastic Modeling, Optimization, & Statistics, and the Microfluidics Fabrication Laboratory. Our research and educational programs are rigorous and well respected in the community. Applicants will be expected to take a significant role in academic and research efforts in one or more of these areas.
