*Surveys for all Accelerated Online courses will end two days before the official course end date of each course. The surveys for regular 15-week classes in the fall that end on the official last day of classes will be available from Wednesday, April 18, 2018 through Friday, May 4, 2018 for each lecture, lab, seminar, and practicum course having 5 or more students enrolled.
Surveys for Accelerated Online or any class that lasts less than 15 weeks will be available about one week before each class end date.
You will be issued an email message inviting you to complete an online Student Feedback Survey. The invitation will be sent to your official UTA e-mail address (e.g., firstname.lastname@example.org).
The invitation will direct you to the survey log in page. Instructions on the page will prompt you to log-in with your NetID and password to verify your identity. The responses are anonymous to the extent permitted by applicable law and University regulations.
If you do not respond to the initial invitation, you will receive a reminder daily. Access to the survey will end at 11 PM on the last official day of the semester, Wednesday, December 6, 2017. No surveys will be re-issued after they close.
For regular classes that last less than 15 weeks, the survey period is one week long. Email invitations to participate in the SFS process are issued one week before each class’ official end date and close at 11:00 PM on the evening of the official end date.
For Accelerated Online classes that last less than 15 weeks, the survey period is also one week long, and the survey will close at 11:00 PM two days before the official class end date.
Links to all SFS surveys can also be found on your Blackboard page; go to https://elearn.uta.edu. Please note that surveys will be available here during the survey period only.
Courses in which the official enrollment is less than five students after the last drop date will not be issued a survey.
Below you will find some anticipated questions about the Student Feedback Survey. If your question is not addressed, please let me know; I will do my best to respond to your query and, as appropriate, will update this document. -Maria Martinez-Cosio
Q: My instructor handed out paper course evaluation forms in our class. Was this the same as the online survey?
A: No. All official university-surveys are conducted online. Any paper survey you may have received was a supplemental survey administered by the department, school, college, or instructor.
Q: Is there a central website where I can access all of my Student Feedback Surveys at once?
A: Yes, your Blackboard page: https://elearn.uta.edu. (Even if your course is not on Blackboard, links to your surveys will be there during the survey period.)
Q: If I am taking five courses this term, will I receive five separate e-mail messages?
A: No. You will receive only one email invitation for all the surveys that are available to you. Surveys will only be issued to a lecture, lab, seminar, or practicum course with at least five students enrolled. On the invitation message you will be provided with a survey link and instruction on how to access your survey(s).
Q: What if I don't read my MavMail? Do I have another option?
A: Yes. You can visit your Blackboard page at https://elearn.uta.edu/. The survey links will be available here during the survey period only.
Q: Is the instructor allowed to encourage us to complete the survey?
A: Yes, instructors have been asked to encourage participation in the online survey process.
Q: Is the instructor allowed to require me to complete the SFS?
A: No. Your participation in the SFS process is voluntary and although the instructor can see the response rate for the class in “real time,” individual student’s identity is not available.
Q: I am taking a team-taught course. Will I fill out separate surveys for both/all instructors?
A: Yes, if that the department provided the SFS Team with this information per established administrative deadlines at the beginning of the term.
Q: If I miss the deadline for completing the survey, can a new survey be issued?
A: No. All surveys must be completed during the time frame specified in the invitation e-mail.
Q: Will the instructor be able to connect my survey responses with my identity?
A: No. Your responses are anonymous.
Q: Will the survey results influence my grade in the course?
A: No. Instructors will not receive any survey data until after final grades have been certified by the University, thereby ensuring the integrity of the process.
