Assistant Professor

Professor Frazier joined The University of Texas at Arlington in 1997, and teaches courses in Production and Operations Management and in Management Science. Previously at the University of Oregon, Professor Frazier participated in a 1996 program funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant to study Asian business practices, spending three weeks visiting companies and organizations is Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. Also in 1996 he was selected to be a Faculty Fellow at The Boeing Company, spending three months in Seattle and visiting many of their manufacturing facilities.

Professor Frazier's research interests include issues in cellular manufacturing, production scheduling, line balancing, inventory record accuracy, and forecasting. He has published his research in Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Production and Inventory Management Journal, and Business Horizons.

Professor Frazier is an active member of the American Production and Inventory and Control Society (APICS) and is a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM). He is also a member of Decision Sciences Institute (DSI) and the Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences (INFORMS).

I was just finishing all the requirements for a Ph.D. in production and operations management at Texas A&M University. I had previously been teaching university courses in my department for two and one-half years. I had been assisting faculty with academic research for four years.

  • I was competitively selected as a Faculty Fellow by The Boeing Company in Seattle. For about three months I worked full-time on a project at Boeing’s facilities around Seattle, 1996.
  • I was selected to participate in a program funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant to study Asian business practices and culture. Participation began with five months of seminars on Asian culture and business issues. The program concluded with a three-week study tour of companies and organizations in Seoul, Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, 1996.
  • I was recognized as a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management (CFPIM) by APICS. This is a valued industry-level certification of competence in my field. Being certified as a Fellow indicates the highest level of achievement and a demonstrated willingness to disseminate knowledge and educate others, 1993.
  • At the University of Oregon I conducted/advised independent studies with many students at the undergraduate, masters and Ph.D. levels on a variety of issues in my field.
