Undergraduate Program
Degree Plans
Undergraduates can choose between 2 basic degrees: the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (B.A.I.S.) and the Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (B.S.I.S.).Each of these degree plans is available in a “TECHNICAL HOURS” version that allows students to transfer up to 24 technical hours which may be used on the degree plan.
CORE Requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree:
- English: 6 Hours
- Literature: 3 Hours
- History: 6 Hours of American History
- Political Science: 6 Hours
- Math: 6 Hours (college algebra or higher)
- Science: 8 Hours (in a single lab science: BIOL, CHEM, GEOL, PHYS)
- Fine Arts: 3 Hours
- Social/Cultural Studies: 3 Hours
- Foreign Language (14 Hours) or Social/Cultural Studies (12 Hours from the APPROVED COURSE LIST)
- Interdisciplinary Studies Program CORE: 9 Hours

CORE Requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree:
- English: 6 Hours

- History: 6 Hours of American History (pre and post Civil War)
- Political Science: 6 Hours
- Math: 9 Hours (college algebra or higher)
- Science: 11 Hours (8 hours in a single lab science; 3-4 additional hours)
- Fine Arts: 3 Hours
- Social/Cultural Studies: 3 Hours
- Science-for-Science Majors: 18 Hours (of which 12 must be upper level)
- Interdisciplinary Studies Program CORE: 9 Hours
