UTA Volunteers is a student group that plans and implements volunteer and community service programs for UTA and the surrounding community. Our purpose is to promote active citizenship and strengthen our community by creating a role for students to become involved in community service and provide tools and resources to the UTA community.
Why should I volunteer?
Volunteering feels good! Volunteering is about giving back to the community, getting to know others, spending volunteering time with friends, sharing expertise to help with unique projects, gaining new experiences, and acquiring new skills. Volunteering is about building a close relationship with your community and offering your hands and mind to help others. Our community needs helping hands and who better to do it than a Maverick!
What's my role?
Attend our general body meetings to help plan events. Our general body meetings are every Tuesday at 2:15 pm in the Student Congress Chambers, located in the lower level of the University Center.
You can also be elected for a Director position or serve as an Event Chair. Directors lead a UTA Volunteers committee and are responsible for overseeing programs and services and developing agency partnerships within the community. Event chairs are elected to plan and implement specific programs throughout the school year.
Anyone can get involved with UTA Volunteers. As a student, faculty, or staff, you are welcome to participate in UTA Volunteers programs and services.

Check out the UTA Volunteers Database of events. Create a profile in the database, browse all of the upcoming events and projects, and feel free to sign up for anything that sounds like you!

Apply to be a UTA Volunteers Director, Vice President or President!!
Applications are now being accepted for student leaders to serve as the Directors, Vice President, and President of the UTA Volunteers. To apply to be a Director or the Vice President, complete the Director Application below by 5:00pm on Friday, April 12th. Interviews will then be scheduled the following week by a committee of current directors and advisors, who will select the final candidates for these positions.
For the President position, complete the below linked application by 5:00pm on Friday, April 12th. Interviews will be held the following week to select final candidates, who will then give a speech during the General Body Meeting of the UTA Volunteers. A vote by the membership of UTA Volunteers will determine who our President for 2013-2014 will be!!
All applications can be turned into the UTA Volunteers executive board during the General Body Meetings on Tuesdays at 2:15p in the Student Congress Chambers, or in the UTA Volunteers Office at the above listed address.
