Program Events and Activities
The LGBTQA Program takes a proactive approach to address discrimination, safety, and bullying for the LGBTQA population, and includes a balance of programs that highlight positive role models, accomplishments, pride, and celebration of the LGBTQA community.
Pride Peers will work in collaboration with UT Arlington staff and established student groups, strengthening existing and future programs/services that help to foster an inclusive campus atmosphere.
All students will be able to participate, learn from, and enjoy a wide variety of events throughout the semester.
A sample of the upcoming programs will include:
- LGBTQA lectures/performances
- Pride Week
- Social events that provide opportunities for networking and community building
- Safe Zone Ally Training
- Anti-Bullying education and advocacy
- Campus observances of national events: National Day of Silence, National Coming Out Day, Take Back the Night
LGBTQA Student Social Hangouts
The LGBTQA Program is excited to introduce the LGBTQA Program Hangouts! The hangouts are a new initiative which is a bi-weekly social event where UTA students can come to chat, play games, listen to music, enjoy free snacks, and unwind from school. Come get to know others in the LGBTQA+ community in an safe and welcoming environment!
Join the Pride Peers and some guest facilitators for a free lunch while talking about different topics surrounding the LGBTQA community in a roundtable format.
The Pride Peers are a team of students who coordinate a variety of special educational and community building events.
