Program Events and Activities

The LGBTQA Program takes a proactive approach to address discrimination, safety, and bullying for the LGBTQA population, and includes a balance of programs that highlight positive role models, accomplishments, pride, and celebration of the LGBTQA community. The Pride Peers collaborate with UTA staff and student groups to strengthen existing and future programs/services that help to foster an inclusive campus atmosphere. 

The entire campus community is encouraged to participate in programs that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lectures/performances
  • Annual Pride Week in October
  • Social & Networking events
  • LGBTQIA + Maverick Ally
  • Anti-Bullying education and advocacy
  • Campus observances of national events:  for e.g. National Day of Silence, National Coming Out Day, Transgender Awareness Week
