Noteworthy
Daniel Cavanagh, Music
Named one of 13 winners of the 2009 International Music Prizes for Excellence in Composition in a competition sponsored by the National Academy of Music of Greece last year. The former Smotherman Award winner, who has released two albums in the past three years, competed with more than 80 international composers.
Dr. Joseph Ignagni, Political Science
Presented at the 2010 International Conference on Social Sciences in Paris, France, which is sponsored by the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology. The research -- the United States and U.S. Supreme Court -- was a joint project, teaming Ignagni and Dr. Rebecca Deen, chair of the Department of Political Science.
Dr. Elizabeth Morrow, Music
Named one of nine University of Texas at Arlington faculty to win the inaugural UT System Board of Regent's Outstanding Teaching Award in 2009.
Dr. Harry Reeder, Philosophy
Inducted into the University of Texas at Arlington's Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2009. He is one of seven Liberal Arts faculty inducted since 1996.
Dr. David Silva, Linquistics and TESOL
Named one of nine University of Texas at Arlington faculty to win the inaugural UT System Board of Regent's Outstanding Teaching Award in 2009. Silva also delivered the keynote address at the 2010 Biannual Meeting of the International Circle of Korean Linguistics at the University of the Humanities in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Named the Marjorie Keller Young Teacher of the Year by the Texas chapter of the American String Teachers Association in February 2010.
