The Master Hooding Ceremony recognizes the hard work and accomplishments of Liberal Arts graduate students, and allows them to participate in a long-standing academic tradition, said Les Riding-in, Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies.
The hooding of our master's candidates is a symbolic experience signifying the passage from student to master,” Riding-In said. Since only those earning terminal degrees are hooded during commencement, we wanted to create a separate ceremony publicly honoring the accomplishments of our graduate students.
Each semester, graduating students are invited to participate in the ceremony. If you wish to participate, and have not yet received an official RSVP email, please contact Riding-In at firstname.lastname@example.org.
