Do you remember registering for classes, financial aid, looking for housing, purchasing a meal ticket, finding your campus mailbox,  buying books – and the big question, how are you going to pay for it all? As an alumnus of the College of Liberal Arts, you have the great privilege of helping a student in need of financial assistance. Some of our most talented and gifted students need help to continue their education and make their way into the world. Will you consider making a gift to one of the following areas? If you prefer to give to a specific department or scholarship fund, please indicate the designation of your gift on your check.

Opportunities to Give

Dean’s Excellence Fund
This is a very important fund which the Dean uses in a variety of ways. Special projects, presentation of papers, student scholarship, and everything in between comes from the Dean’s Excellence Fund.

Festival of Ideas
Speakers are brought to UT Arlington to enrich the student experience of campus life, to stimulate thoughtful conversation, and to provide a forum to discuss cultural and intellectual issues.

The Innocence Project
The Innocence Project, a criminology and criminal justice undergraduate program that seeks to help wrongfully convicted inmates. Funds are needed to help with on-going research.

Music to our Ears!
Can you buy a key? Pianos are needed for the Music Department. Keys are being sold for $250 and $500 each. Please consider buying a key and helping with the purchase of a studio piano.

Dr. Charles McDowell Center for Critical Languages
The late Dr. Charles McDowell was instrumental in teaching students about Russian language and culture, as well as East European studies. A memorial fund has been established in his name and his legacy will continue on at the University. Additional “critical” languages will be offered to students: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Hindi, and Uzbek – languages that are increasingly important to international business.

The Maverick Match
The University is proud to offer the Maverick Match, a program that leverages UT Arlington’s natural gas royalty funds to support student scholarships and fellowships, faculty recruitment and retention, and other important areas of campus and academic life. The program matches “dollar for dollar” all endowment commitments of $25,000 or more to establish new funds or add to existing ones. Funds will be placed in the endowment at the end of each fiscal year, matching your annual contributions to that fund. To take advantage of this special philanthropic opportunity, please call Development Officer, Myke Holt at (817) 272-1055.
