Prospective Students
The College of Liberal Arts offers seventeen different majors, and additional minor fields. In addition, we offer twelve programs leading to M.A. degrees, and three Ph.D. programs. The Ph.D. programs — in English, Transatlantic History, and Linguistics — have been recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and contribute greatly to the growing academic distinction of the College. GET THE FACTS: What's in Store for Future College Graduates? Our faculty is outstanding. Through their research and accomplishments, they are actively involved in shaping the disciplines they teach. Your work and experience in the classroom will prepare you to take part in the activities and conversations of the future. Every year brings new colleagues, new programs, and new forms of instruction, so that we may continue to be educational leaders. The College of Liberal Arts has been in the forefront of Distance Education, as well. We now offer a number of classes that are available online, and we will be increasing our offerings semester by semester. As you browse through the following pages and see the various programs and exciting opportunities that await you as a student in the College of Liberal Arts, you may find you have questions that are not answered by the website.
