Parlor and Atrium Set Up Information

 

 

ATRIUM

  • Capacity 225 maximum
  • Tiled area – 20 round tables will fit comfortably – 24 with some crowding
  • Carpeted area – 10 round tables will fit comfortably – 12 with some crowding
  • Rectangular tables will only fit 2 wide (east - west) on the carpet
  • Rounds must be arranged in a staggered pattern (checkerboard)

 

PARLOR

  • Capacity 100 maximum
  • Chairs – 100 maximum with a small aisle down the center. 
  • With this many chairs, the guest will be very close to the podium and there is only room for 1 rectangular table next to podium
  • Round Tables (max 6 round in parlor)  will fit 2 wide (east - west) and 3 long (north - south)
  • Rectangular Tables will fit 3 wide (east - west) and 4 long (north - south)
  • Note:  Movement of other furniture (i.e. sofas, etc.) will require meeting with [Carleen]
  • Verbal instructions such as: “Make a grouping of chairs at the north end” is too vague.  Be specific.
  • Wooden doors to Special Collections must not be blocked!  Fire Hazard!

 

ROUND TABLES

  • 5’ diameter (60”)
  • Can seat 6 comfortably or maximum of  8 (somewhat crowded)
  • Library has 24 rounds on hand
  • Additional tables can be requested from Central Receiving or UC Operations

 

RECTANGULAR TABLES

  • 6’ x 2’
  • Can seat 2 comfortable or 3 somewhat crowded
  • Tables are not wide enough to seat people facing each other
  • Library has 20 rectangular tables
  • Additional tables can be requested from Central Receiving
  • 10 - Monoliths – 8’ tall (can form a small wall behind podium  
  • 1 - Risers – 6’ wide x 8’ long
