UT Arlington Library is a congressionally designated depository for U.S. Government documents. Public access to the government documents collection is guaranteed by public law. (Title 44 United States Code).

These publications, created by Texas state government agencies and institutions, provide current and historical information to researchers, students, businesses, and the general public.

The Texas State Depository program was severely curtailed in June 2011. The library is in the process of digitizing these materials.
