Carlisle Military Academy


Following the demise of Arlington College, Carlisle operated Carlisle Military Academy from 1902 to 1913. Born in Tennessee, Carlisle came to Texas in the 1880's and established his reputation as an educator, holding several state positions before opening CMA. The academy was founded on Carlisle's educational philosophy which balanced intellectual work with Military training to produce well-rounded, disciplined students.
