Les Miserables by Victor Hugo This book, more than any other that I have ever read, clearly illustrates the importance that every individual should have in our lives, no matter what their station. Kindness displayed to a person in need may change that person's life and even have an influence on events that seem totally disconnected from our actions. If one seriously considers what Victor Hugo imagined in this complex plot, then one must give serious thought to a wide variety of preconceptions and prejudices that creep into our lives, and sweep those negative thoughts from our existence. -- A.
